Cannabis has been around for thousands of years; as a consequence, there are plenty of countries in the world where people consume it and grow it, and have been doing so for a very long time. But what country’s population consumes marijuana most often?
On a yearly basis, the answer may surprise you. In 2012, over 18% of the population of Iceland used cannabis at least once, which is tops in the world. In comparison, the percentage of past year cannabis consumers in the U.S. was 15.4% in 2013. But using cannabis once in a year does not make you anything close to a “regular” marijuana user.
