The VapeXhale Cloud EVO is “the world’s first dabless vaporizer,” meaning it uses no butane and no torches. It is a well-made, glass-on-glass, complex piece designed to give you the cleanest, purest hit possible. It can take a little getting used to, but after some experimentation, you’ll definitely get the hang of it, and we wouldn’t be surprised if you fall in love with the piece and the cannabis technology behind it. It will be your piece that only you know how to work just right, so you don’t need to worry about your mooching roommate using it when your gone. (Look for amateur chamber burns on his fingers if you’re curious.) So take a ride with our main man Chewy as he tests out the VapeXhale Cloud EVO, and let's see if this two-time High Times Cannabis Cup Best Product-winning vaporizer/bong/dab rig is all it is hyped up to be!
This is what it looks like right out of the box. The box comes with a heating system (black box), water chamber, two mesh bowls for flower (notice the two smaller-looking bowls are not actually bowls, but act as covers inside of the main, larger mesh bowl to protect it from leaking vaped flower), and two glass cylinders for concentrates. Let's start with the flower...
Loading the Cloud EVO with flower is very straight forward. Grind your herbs to desired perfection and load into the screen mesh baskets given. Once marijuana is packed into the bowl, place the smaller-looking mesh bowl on top of the flower inside the larger bowl to protect from leakage.
Once full, load the cartridge into the top glass fitting. For flower, the correct temperature setting can vary depending on how tight the bowl is packed or which chamber you are using. After a couple of adjustments, we found the correct temperature for ours. I'm sure the vape veterans out there can find that sweet spot. After an eighth of weed to the wind, time to move on to concentrates.
Smoke diffusion through the water chamber makes for a very smooth hit—we loved this aspect of the VapeXhale. The VapeXhale EVO is the first vaporizer with bubbler attachment.
Oil cartridges are easy to load as well. A long, skinny dab tool is needed for application from the top down the tube. There is also a slit just up from the bottom of the cartridge that is also big enough to load from.
Put the glass tube down the center of the glass fitting at the top, same as the flower. Give it a few seconds until smoke is visible, put your bubbler on top, and you're ready for some smooth and tasty rips!
You can vape small amounts of concentrate that leave long-lasting effects with the temperature set at halfway. Stronger concentrate hits can be taken by turning the knob slightly up from halfway, say around on a clock. Your normal dab hit gets drawn out into 4-6 hits instead of a massive hit, and honestly, it’s great. Nothing’s lost. Not only that, its glass-on-glass, butane-free design makes it the healthiest way to dab on the market.
The oil cartridges are very hot when you unload them, so for people who desire multiple dabs or longer sessions, BE CAREFUL! Multiple oil cartridges are necessary if you’re going to be taking a lot of hits in a row. Smoke diffusion through the water chamber makes for a very smooth hit—we loved this aspect of the VapeXhale.
Overall, I recommend the VapeXhale for oil and concentrates over flower.
The main pros of the VapeXhale are that it reaches the optimum temperature fast, so you’re not stuck waiting for that perfect dab for long. The vape is compact and good looking with a sleek, black-and-green design and smaller, functional glass pieces. One of the coolest things about the VapeXhale is that it is a vaporizer that has a bubbler! The bubbler combined with the fact it is a vaporizer gives the EVO possibly the smoothest rip on the market, which sometimes can be hard to find from a vape. It is conservative with concentrates, ensuring you won’t “blow” through your stash too quickly. In fact, we found it works best with oils, shatters, and waxes. You can also purchase different bubbler attachments for the EVO, giving each individual EVO a personalized aspect. Very cool.
Like any vaporizer, it also has its cons. There is no exact temperature gage on the VapeXhale, just a knob that you turn up or down. As I said before, finding the optimum temperature for flower can take some experimentation, though (on the clock diagram) 12:00 worked best for concentrates. Its biggest con is how hot the oil chamber gets; when we pulled it out to reload and set it on the table for a second, it burned straight through our tablecloth, so keep your hands as far away as possible from the scalding chamber or you will get BURNED! The red light/green light display that shows you when it’s ready is viewed through the center tube of the vaporizer, which seemed like a cool design feature at first. After a few dabs, though, it can get a little challenging to tell when that little red light turns to green. (A display on the facing of the EVO would have helped our high minds.)
Overall, if you can muster up the extra change, The VapeXhale Cloud EVO should definitely be on your stoner wish list. With the cannabis industry's latest push for clean dabbing, the EVO is by far the cleanest way to use concentrates by eliminating the need for butane. It also was quite potent. After our office had a testing session, it got awfully quiet... With its simple heating system, hydratube, and glass-on-glass delivery system, the EVO gives you the smoothest, purest hit on the market while also giving superior flavor. If you are looking to invest in a long-term smoking device and are tired of all of these products that break down after a month of use, check out the EVO.
