Marijuana has become a serious issue for parents, as research suggests that certain illnesses in children can be treated with medical marijuana.
The controversy spurred by minors using medical cannabis is also compounded by the fact that child protective services are unfairly strict on parents who themselves are medical marijuana patients.
Activist group Moms for Marijuana International feels that these issues must be addressed by staging a series of rallies in North America and Europe on Nov. 12. The group hopes the event builds public support of cannabis consuming parents, and helps to start challenging nationwide child protective services policies.
Huffington Post reported earlier this year that now 70 percent of parents support marijuana legalization.
