I’m sure you’ve all heard the rumors that pot smokers tend to have healthier figures than their sober counterparts. Guess what? It’s true! A study published in the American Journal of Medicine found that on average marijuana fanatics have a 7% lower body mass index and a 4% smaller waistline. No wonder we look so good.
Contributing to their beautiful figures is their better carbohydrate metabolism. To be specific, pot smokers typically have lower fasting insulin levels, and are apparently less resistant to the insulin produced by their own bodies to maintain normal blood-sugar levels. In other words, pot smokers have less unused sugar in their cells, and their bodies tend to handle insulin more properly, decreasing their likelihood of Type II diabetes, and of course, weight gain.
