In a case of putting the horse before the cart, a group of Florida entrepreneurs last week opened an informative medical marijuana school. A good idea in theory, however the state of Florida will not even vote on the issue of legalizing or decriminalizing cannabis until the end of 2014. There is definitely a demand for this type of schooling that I have witnessed firsthand. Before closing its doors this past year due to federal pressure, the now defunct Oaksterdam University in Oakland, CA was a place that drew students from near and far who wanted to learn about the cannabis industry from seasoned professionals. Hopefully the newly formed Medical Marijuana Tampa will not meet the same fate as Oaksterdam.
"Florida may not have Medical Marijuana just yet (that vote comes later this year), but entrepreneurs are already eyeing business in what (hopefully) will be one of America's next MMJ states this year. The first of those enterprises, "Medical Marijuana Tampa," a school for those that want to enter the burgeoning weed industry, began classes yesterday."
