Name: Bubba Kush
Type: Hybrid (Indica Dominant)
Genetics: Bubble Gum x Kush
The Bubba Kush strain is a very sweet, earthy strain that is almost pure indica (90/10) and named after the person who first grew it (Bubba, I presume). Bubba Kush is one of the sweetest and fruitiest indica-dominant hybrids known to man. The genetics of the strain are derived from the famous Bubble Gum strain and the legendary OG Kush strain. While usually not as potent or long lasting as OG Kush (1-2 hours), Bubba Kush is a true Kush classic and has built up quite a following.
Looks and Smell
Bubba Kush has buds that are medium, (and I know I use this word way too much) "popcorn-sized", tight, and medium to dark green in color. The buds look like small pine cones with the Christmas tree structure that is typical of most indicas, and each nug is completely covered in trichromes, giving off a rolled in sugar appearence.
This all adds to that instant bag appeal that we all love. The strain has a sweet perfume that is similar to rich earth with a spoonful of citrus that is very unique. When ground up, Bubba Kush takes on an even more pungent aroma that is heavy on the musk and Kush spice notes. It's very reminiscent of Sour Diesel.
Muscles melt, aches fade, and the body warms when cannabis users taste the sweet, thick smoke that is Bubba Kush. A long-lasting narcotic effect finds its way to all the layers of body pain, calming nerves, warming and relaxing muscles, and generally calming the storm of unpleasant bodily sensations experienced by many medical marijuana patients.
The smoke was very smooth, and the flavor had hints of vanilla, chocolate, and spice. The aftertaste and mouth-feel seemed to have a lingering, very minty quality as well. This flavor was also enduring, remaining even as the bowl was in a blackened state.
The indica properties of this strain make it a great choice for relieving chronic aches and pains such as those caused by Multiple Sclerosis or Cancer. Bubba Kush has also been proven effective in the treatment of anxiety, stress, appetite disorders, and insomnia.
That being said, I would recomend Bubba Kush for nighttime use due to the heavy indica qualities. Moderate level to advanced growers are best suited for this strain, as it can be a tricky one. Though the yield for this strain is typically lower than other Kush varieties, the rewards are not--beautiful, thick, dense buds covered in sticky trichromes and a very respectable THC content (15%-19%).
